The Adjutant General
Brigadier General William R. Burks is the Adjutant General for the State of Nevada. As Adjutant General, he is the senior uniformed Nevada National Guard officer responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, programs and plans affecting more than 4,000 Nevada Army and Air National Guard personnel. Appointed by the Governor, State of Nevada, General Burks serves as the Governor’s principal adviser on all National Guard issues.
Senior Enlisted Leader
Command Sergeant Major Stephen A. Sitton was appointed the first Senior Enlisted Leader for the state of Nevada on July 2009. Prior to this assignment he was the State Command Sergeant Major of Nevada. Before that he was the Command Sergeant Major for the 422nd Signal Battalion, Reno, Nevada. As the Senior Enlisted Leader his duties are to advise the Adjutant General and the senior leadership team about enlisted issues. The Senior Enlisted Leader will answer questions from enlisted Soldiers and Airmen.
