General Gonzales was also responsible for the 2,700 Joint-Force Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen employed across the hostile combat zone that contributed to the reconstruction of Iraq.  Brigadier General Gonzales continued to participate in the National Resolution Campaign, where he served as the Chief of Security in the International Zone Forward Operating Base and was instrumental in the merger of the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the Project Contracting Office.
