About 100 people filled the Nevada room at the Governor’s Mansion yesterday where Gov. Brian Sandoval hosted the second annual Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s Executive Breakfast with the Boss. The event recognized employers for their support of employees who are also members of the National Guard and U.S. Reserve forces.

1/421st RTI rebounds, regains accreditation at new Las Vegas home

LAS VEGAS – The Nevada Army Guard’s 1/421st Regional Training Institute passed the most important test in its history and regained its accreditation authority Wednesday after a close examination by National Guard Bureau and Training and Doctrine Command officials here at the North Las Vegas Readiness Center.

The RTI is now re-certified to instruct Soldiers in the 25 (signal corps), 31 (military police), and 88 (motor transport operator) series of military occupational specialties.

RENO - More than 30 tons of mangled steel, shattered glass, and sun-cracked rubber were removed from remote areas surrounding Reno via helicopter on Saturday as the Nevada Army National Guard teamed up with Troop 3396 of the Boy Scouts of America, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office to remove abandoned vehicles from the Truckee River watershed.
