Nevada Guards 137th Military Police Det set to deploy

Nevada Guard’s 137th Military Police Det. set to deploy CARSON CITY — About 50 soldiers in the Nevada Army Guard’s 137th Military Police Detachment have received orders to begin pre-deployment training in mid-April and subsequently perform a one-year mission in Afghanistan. The unit will be supported and assisted by its parent brigade, the 17th Sustainment Brigade, and its parent battalion, the 757th Combat Sustainment Services Battalion, during the deployment.

Nevada National Guard Soldier Receives Rare Battlefield Promotion Fri, January 22, 2010
Ellis was one of eight Regional Command-East Soldiers, out of approximately 25,000, to receive a battlefield promotion on New Year’s Day. Nearly a 1,000 active-duty, Reserve and National Guard Soldiers have received battlefield promotions to staff sergeant and below since April 2008. To qualify for battlefield promotion, Soldiers must be serving in a position and demonstrate the skills of the rank to which they're being promoted.
